Happy Easter from the Dominican Republic!
The weather’s been gorgeous and everyone in the DR is either at the beach or in the mountains, enjoying the last of the long weekend that kicked off Thursday, while others observed the Semana Santa rituals in the Colonial Zone.
I prefer to stay off the road during Easter, to be honest, to avoid the crowds and crazy driving. But I’m also saving my energy and excited that I’ll soon hit the road around the DR to research and update Moon Dominican Republic 2019.
And guess what? I’ll be taking you “Behind the Scenes” on my Moon DR journey, showing you glimpses of how I research places, hotels, and other latest, fabulous finds to add to the guidebook. All you have to do is follow along on Instagram and turn on your push notifications so you don’t miss my posts. The adventure begins late April.
Have a lovely Easter, and remember to try a big bowl of habichuelas con dulce — watch this DRVisitor video on this traditional Dominican dessert served this time of year.
